Citizens of the Czech Republic usually have it banned from serving a foreign army.
Fiala has said the law on this matter will not be revised.
Ukrainian President Volodyr Zelensky has called on experienced Europeans to support Kiev against the Russian occupation.
About 400 volunteers have contacted Czech authorities, demanding exemption from the rule.
The Czech Republic has been a member of NATO since 1999 and is less than 400km from Ukraine./ REL
