Biden today will hold phone conversations with Zelensky

A White House official has confirmed that phone conversations will be conducted “to discuss our continued support for Ukraine in the face of Russian aggression”.

The call comes a day after Biden and other American officials spoke of extreme caution to signals Russia is reducing its military operations near Kiev, suggesting that they were waiting to see stronger signs of deceleration before making an assessment of Moscow's goals.

Beden stressed that, meanwhile, the US will continue to contain “severe sanctions” and “provides the Ukrainian Army with their capacity to protect themselves”.
