Dominic Raab said that people who thought the crisis could be resolved within days but “measured themselves” and that NATO would have to be “showed some strategic stability” in its attempt to force the Russian army to step down, the newspaper Express follows.
Rab, who is also secretary of justice, told the BBC's morning programme: “I think the conclusion is that none of the major cities has yet to fall”.
But I don't think we should have any doubt that our mission with our allies is to ensure Putin's failure in Ukraine, and this would take a little time”, he said.
“We are talking for months, if not years, and for that reason we will have to show strategic stability because it will not end within several days”, Raab stressed.
