This has been announced by Interior Minister Jalal Svecla, who has said that during all this time they have been engaged, along with Kosovo allies, to meet any request of Afghan shelters in Kosovo.
“The government of the Republic of Kosovo and as the Minister of Internal Affairs, we have agreed to take over this process without any dilemma and high-responsibilities. Thanks to cooperation with the United States of America, NATO and our allies are towards successful finalisation of this process. We have been fully committed together with our partners so that every request of the fugitives can be met in the Ottoman term and ensure well-being and good conditions for all. I am very happy that as a state we succeeded in this process as well and that all those who took refuge in camp “Bechtel” in Kosovo are starting a new life in host states”, Svecla wrote on Facebook.
Kosovo, last year, had agreed to house about 2,000 Afghans who were endangered in their country after the Taliban took power in their hands.
