Today's operation has preceded a nearly one-year-old investigation into the suspicion of involvement in illegal activities of a number of police officials related to criminal acts “bribery” and “misusing official position or authority”.
This IPK operation, code-named “Pika”, is also being supported by the Kosovo Agency for Intelligence, Kosovo Customs and Kosovo Police.
Under this investigative and operational action by IPK investigators is expected to initially be accompanied and then arrested dozens of police officials suspected in this case (mostly border police officials) as well as several customs officials”, the IPK reports.
“The IPK will continue to remain committed to the enterprise of actions aimed at empowering police integrity while additional details concerning the course of this operation will become known today in the afternoon hours of”, their announcement concludes.
