The 60 - mile [60 km] Russian convoy that had set out with the intention of taking Ukraine's capital, Kiev, is moving with intense slowness.
The US Department of Defence has stated that this convoy has achieved little progress in the last 24 hours.
“The 60km-long need of Russian troops targeting Kiev's south has slowed down by Ukrainian fighters and remains dead of”, spokesman John Kirby said on Wednesday.
He has said the US believes the Russians are reassembled and are praising the situation for the apparent impasse in their progress towards the capital.
He has also stressed that Washington cannot confirm that the southern town of Kherson has been invaded, as the Russians claimed.
