PSD seeks Moliqaj's release: His arrest was orchestrated “from above”

At a media conference, Dren Kukaj member of the PSD leadership, simultaneously a member of Moliqaj's defence team, said Kosovo Police have not had an invitation, nor does the arrest speak for Dardan Moliqaj.

“During the arrest no reasons for the arrest were indicated, no warrants were presented, not at the time of arrest, nor within the police station. What we have understood is that the flexible was released after the police operation was carried out 15 minutes after it went to the police station that was being compiled and the warrant was issued. We were shown his screen-shot and we saw that he was released after the moment of his arrest. Kukaj said they hold all those who have been part of the chain of command within the justice system responsible for having, according to him, overstepped their competencies during Moliqaj's arrest and against them, initiated legal means.

The fact that we have an operation organised without a warrant shows that everything has been motivated and politically orchestrated, and with an attempt by the state of Kosovo, the ruling party against Moliqaj because of Saturday's incident and the lynching campaign that is due to that incident from that moment to follow this operation tonight... The way he dealt with Dardan, with arrogant behavior, shows that everything has been orchestrated from above, Interior Minister Jedal Svechla and I believe in Prime Minister Albin Kurti... we seek his immediate release”, Kukaj said.

Asked by Kosova Prees if they had contact with Moliq after his arrest, Dren Kukaj has said he was at the police station to visit him.

I was at the police station and they wanted me to leave. There was no physical interference, but behavior was not professional by police officers and investigators and was arrogant. Arrogance has been unnecessary. They've had the duty to act professionally, but we've seen an arrogant attitude of all those involved in this case”, Kukaj said.

While Nature Kuci of the PSD has said Moliqaj's arrest will not intimidate this party.
