PSD) arrested an activist for the electricity protest, wants to be released

The Social Democrat Party has announced that activist Adem Mergjuani has been arrested in connection with the anti-expensive electricity protest.

This party has demanded his immediate release.

According to the PSD, he has been assigned a 48-hour ban.

“at 9: 00 p.m., activist Adem Megjuani has responded to the police call for interviews regarding the incident that took place in the anti-expensive electricity protest. The same prosecutor of the case has pronounced the 48-hour detention measure. The measure does not meet any of the conditions prior to the Penal Procedure Code for its pronunciation. The way the prosecutor of the case has acted constitutes abuse of his power and violation of the rights of our official. The disproportionship of the prosecution's actions is proportional only to the need of power to discipline the PSD's opposition actions.

The State Party has hampered mass participation of people in the protest. They immediately started hunting witches. Today they have continued with arrests. Police propaganda aimed at criminalising a peaceful protest is being translated with persecution”, the PSDI report said.
