Part of the agenda will be to vote the draft resolution from the parliamentary debate against costing the electricity, as well as vote of the draft resolution on salaries in the public sector.

On 24 January, the draft resolution proposed by the PDK, the LDK and the AAK in the country against rising electricity bills has not been voted in in.

PDK GP chief Abelard Tahiri had submitted the draft resolution on behalf of three opposition parties, The PDK, the LDK and the AAK against expensive electricity and offer new options from the government.

Kosovo's “Convention at the extraordinary session held today on January 24th, 2022, with PDK GP proposal, LDK GP and AAK GP, and backed MPs propose this draft resolution: The framework imposes Government to reject the current ZERE proposal for expensive electricity and to seek new alternatives proposals: to postpone implementation of new tariffs towards warm months. Any eventual proposal for increased tariffs to be accompanied by reduced VAT rates to zero, to follow the patterns of European states that have practiced such a model, to be offered long-term alternatives to sustainable and affordable energy. In this direction, the government's unreasonable and harmful delays regarding the gasification of Kosovo -- a project that the countries of the region have already launched. The government must accelerate for granting permits for massive start of investments towards the solar energy sector. The Kosovo Assembly imposes Government in the 15-day term to bring and present in the country a written report not to implement the 5th decision of the 06.05.2021 Parliament for failing to ensure the law-based introduction of bills to consumers in relevant municipalities in Kosovo's north”, Tahiri has said.

Otherwise, in Kosovo, an increase in electricity prices has been warned, as, as Government has said, the country is buying electricity at high prices and cannot meet demand with electricity production at “Kosovo A” and “Kosova B”.

Energy Regulatory Office (ZRRE) has proposed increased energy prices for households by 9 percent. The government has said it has allocated 75m euros to subsidise part of the energy bills.

In the ZERE proposal for the price of electricity, consumers are divided into five categories: A, B, C, D, E. If you are in category A, so if you spend 300 kilowatt hours of electricity in one month, then your current bill price is 18.87 euros. Z The RRE has proposed that this bill be raised to 20.40 euros. But, with government subsidies, your bill will remain the same: 18.87 euros.

If you are in category B, or over a month you spend 450 kilowatts, then your current bill price is 27.37 euros. Z The RRE has proposed that this bill be raised to 29.66 euros. But, with government subsidies, your bill will remain the same: 27.37 euros.
