In the announcement made Saturday (12 February), the ministry has also cautioned not to travel towards Ukraine, where there is a danger of war. Meanwhile, no details have been given about the number of Albanian citizens in Ukraine.

So far countries like the United States of America, the United Kingdom, Germany, Estonia, Norway, and the Netherlands, have called on their citizens to leave Ukraine.

In the Balkan region, Montenegro and Northern Macedonia have called on its citizens to temporarily launch Ukraine as well.

Kosovo authorities have so far not made any such calls.

Earlier Saturday, it became known that the United States will evacuate their Embassy to Kiev, as US intelligence officials warn that a Russian invasion of Ukraine is ever closer.

The new move comes after Washington has escalated warnings of a possible Russian invasion of Ukraine, saying it could happen at any moment.

A major military operation against Ukraine could begin “every day now”, even before the end of the Winter Olympics, White House National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan said on February 11th.

He urged all Americans to leave Ukraine immediately.

If you stay, you are jeopardising”, he said.

Russia has denied that gathering more than 100,000 soldiers and military equipment in areas close to the Ukrainian border is a warning of a possible invasion.
