Even 29 public buildings are made with energy efficiency measures

Minister Rizvanolli said that “Energy efficiency represents a priority for the Ministry of Economy (ME) that will be reflected also in the National Energy Strategy 2022-2031 and ME has also been dedicated to continue supporting such projects as we consider to have multiple and multiplayable positive effects, contributing to the country through the generation of new jobs, economic development and the creation of a more clean environment”.

Under this project, up until now the EE measures have been implemented in 87 public buildings, while in 2021 the contract worth $4.2m has been finalised, with cases being renovated 29 public/government buildings.

Then, in April of this year, the renovation of 15 other buildings will begin, which the contract totals 2.4m euros.

World Bank Director (BB) Massimiliano Paolucci said that; “We are here to work with you, with the country as a whole, to advance the energy efficiency agenda. This is not just an infrastructure issue, it's an energy security issue, it's a matter of proper management of government resources, it's a matter of people's well-being. So we appreciate the opportunity we have to work with the authorities on this particular project and we expect to continue with the implementation of the project and think about how to increase this approach not only to public buildings, but also to private residences. ”

Such investments become even more important at a time when we are facing an energy crisis in which each kW saves them a lot is worth saving the consumer and state budget.

Students Centre Director (QS) Fatmir Sfishta thanked representatives of the Ministry of Economy and the World Bank for implementing this project, for this very important investment for all students in particular athletes.

He added that, except as a result of this investment that the Students Centre saves a lot of electricity and heating energy, this savings is best seen in the monthly bills we pay, he said.
