Special Prosecution has said that since Pantic couldn't be sent to custody as required by law and since EULEX has ascertained the poor state of Pantic, then based on health and human terms, has proposed that Pantic be released into domestic arrest.
This Special Prosecutor's response has come after Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti's stance at the media conference, where he said he is curious about who the Prosecutor has proposed changing the move and who is the judge who has approved it.
Full announcement:
The Special Prosecutor of the Republic of Kosovo announces the public opinion that on the basis of this prosecution's request, in 12,12.22, the Constitutional Court in Pristina against defendants Dejan Pantic, has appointed the detention measure for criminal work “Sulm terrorist”.
Although a decision has existed against the defendants on the detention assignment because of already known circumstances, the same was never sent to custody as required by law.
After visits by Eulex medical teams, which have outlined poor health conditions for the defendant, they have recommended treatment at a hospital centre, however, even this recommendation was not realised.
The Special Prosecutor of the Republic of Kosovo, based on health and at the same time on the human aspect, has proposed the Constitutional Court in Pristina, replacing the detention measure for the Pantiq defendant, since the same was in a state of incapacability to enjoy the rights that belonged to the detained in detention centres.
