Through a communiqué to the media, police have announced that public order police units have assisted the officials of the Municipal Election Commission in the offices of the municipal electoral commission, which are located in municipalities Zubin Potok and North Mitrovica with the aim of carrying out their duties and legal competencies.
As far as the situation on the ground is concerned, police have announced that damage to municipal electoral commission offices in northern Mitrovica have been done by suspected persons/accusted groups who have used dangerous means, including Yugoslav hand grenades.
Kosovo's “Police, KFOR (capable property unit for damage m - EOD is examining the site for cleaning up the area, while the PK is working with high intensity on identifying these suspected persons and conducting professional investigations into bringing the perpetrators to justice organs.
Therefore, we assure all citizens that the security situation in the country, including municipalities in the north of the country, is stable and we invite all citizens to be calm, to co-operate with the Kosovo Police, and not to fall prey to denination and biased and false statements”.
