The chairman of the Democratic League of Kosovo, Lumir Abdixhiku, has said that the Republic of Kosovo today is led by people who do not select means for power, toxicised by political and polarising discours in the country.
Abdixhiku, on the 33rd anniversary of the LDK's founding, has said that Kosovo is failing to take even major development steps in the country, nor to build internal co-operation bridges, even fewer bridges of communication with our traditional allies.
Our “Economic, educational, health, legal, social and international potential is a hostage to people who find themselves guilty of failing to act. Our Republic, Kosovo's independent and sovereign state, is guided by distrustfulness. It is being used as a platform of historical revans to the glorious past of our popular movement, which today is marking 33 years. Today, Kosovo is facing successive crises. The economic rate, price hikes, energy chaos, health and education degradation, extreme polarizations with the private sector, media, teachers, doctors and across the political spectrum has become completely common; as has become common and confrontation with our allies. As Kosovo families are left at the mercy of global crises, popular powers continue to build extinguishing over the past. And since the same remains a hostage to the decay of the past, they forget to do the work of the present for which they are chosen to lead. So today for two years, you don't have a country where the state does a job. Roads have remained the same, schools, nests, hospitals and thermal power plants necessary for the country have received no attention for two years now. So today Kosovo has the lowest economic growth in all of the past decade. So today our citizens' inadequacy is heavy. So today Kosovo businesses don't have jobs; and unfortunately, they won't even have workers because the flight continues and the scary growing. Moreover, an incompetent power within is unable even abroad; therefore today and two years Kosovo has not received even one recognition, has made no one membership, has not made a single sign of advancing the Kosovo issue around the world. Above all, today Kosovo has become the subject of disappointing statements by our allies that remained in our collective effort for freedom, both for independence and democracy. This is not Kosovo that we have ever thought of”, he has said, adding that the LDK's presence as the key factor in the state is vital.

LDK 33 YEARS
My word on hosting tonight
Dear LDK members and structures,
(They are) men of might, held in honour,
and honoured guests,
Representatives of the diplomatic choir,
Ladies and gentlemen,
Let me welcome you to note the 33rd anniversary of the establishment of Kosovo's political, democratic and independence formation; the first pluralistic sign throughout Southeast Europe; the largest national organisation of Kosovo Albanians, on the 33rd birthday of the Democratic League of Kosovo.
Today, in this event, we do not only mark the birthday of a political party; today we mark and the birth of artulous political aspirations of the people of Kosovo, for freedom, for independence, for democracy; for dignified life, in an independent and equal state among Euro-Atlantic nations.
Today, we mark December 23rd 1989, at the time of the most serious hours of the people of Kosovo, when prominent intellectuals of the time had responded to the monument call of history for the creation of the largest Albanian movement in Kosovo in the creation of the Democratic League of Kosovo.
At the start of this covenant of this popular movement, stood Kosovo's historic chieftain, the founding Father of the state of Kosovo, our historic president, Dr. Ibrahim Rugova.
With Rugova and the Democratic League of Kosovo, the first identifying and organisational projects of the state of Kosovo arose. The LDK organised the July 2nd <x0th Declaration” of 1990; organised the Cacanic Constitution of September 7, 1990; organised the 1991 “Population Reference”. At these events, and others, the LDK political programme became a national project of Kosovo. In this national Kosovo project, the independent government system was established, which within itself maintained the organised educational, health, financial, information system, its security protection. This organisational system stood as the social survival foundation of the people of Kosovo throughout the 1990s. The same became a pillar of liberation war through every village and every city in Kosovo.
Rugova's leading policy, while uniting peace and patience and perseverance in our right to freedom, independence and democracy, on the one hand became guidance for the people of Kosovo; and on the other, it became an invitation to the international community's unprecedented commitment to Kosovo. The resistance of Albanians, peaceful and military, the Western alliance crowned in NATO military intervention, as well as the freedom of the late XX century, bear the stamp of Rugova and the Democratic League of Kosovo.
After freedom, the LDK engaged in the journey for democracy and independence. With massive popular support, the LDK led the country towards social reconstruction and formation of the first democratic institutions. At the same time, the LDK committed itself to internationalising the issue of Kosovo's status, in talks as patriotic as professional, and in maintaining alliances in the world's top centres.
This mission was crowned with the greatest achievement of the people of Kosovo, Kosovo's declaration of independence on February 17th 2008, and international recognition of the state reality of the Republic of Kosovo.
After independence, the Democratic League of Kosovo was fundamental to strengthening this new citizenship; through memberships in important international, political, cultural and sports organisations. The LDK built the pillars of contractual orientation with the EU, as the inevitability of the people of Kosovo.
The first three decades were built by devoted, patriotic, sacrificial, and domestic activists. So today, we honor each member and our supporter, from day one, to this day indiscriminately since the period of various time requirements, gave Kosovo its entire human and operational potential.
Above all, we honor all those today who in the most patriotic act sacrificed their lives on the altar of the Republic; and we honor all those who, in the wickedness of the shadows of crime, received life.
We honor all previous LDK structures, all levels, which served fairly, with honor and dignity in our political family. This great house of democracy is honorable and fortunate that there have been people like you in its bosom. It will be fortunate and honored when its ranks of your journey will be added young and young, men and women on every side of Kosovo. Because that's our real wealth. LDK people. LDK's idea, LDK's legacy.
Ladies and gentlemen,
Today, at this anniversary, I have to draw every member of the LDK's attention to the challenges our Republic faces. Led by people who elect power vehicles, toxicised by political and polarising discours in the country, Kosovo is failing to take even major development steps in the country, nor to build internal co-operation bridges, even fewer communication bridges with our traditional allies. Our economic, educational, health, legal, social and international potential is a hostage to people who find fault for their inaction.
This is not Kosovo we've ever thought about.
Therefore, LDK presence as the key factor in the state is vital. And to that end, to be convinced that political stars, as they gave the LDK responsibility for the body for freedom, for independence, for democracy and statehood, will be responsible for Kosovo's dock in the European family.
Ladies and gentlemen,
The sign of our founding anniversary corresponds each year to the annual completion of our political affairs at all levels of organisation. The year 2022, though heavy for our country and the prospect necessary for our citizens, was a year of the extraordinary engagement of the men and women of our political home.
Today we mark a little more than the 1st anniversary of our local government. The 9 heads of the Democratic League of Kosovo despite the difficulties of lack of necessary support from the central level continue to be examples of commitment, commitment, transparency and governing purity. They, along with local advisers, municipal directors and their leading teams in Pristina, Peja, Lipjan, Vite, Fushe Kosovo, Istog, Obilic, Yunik and Dragas alike represent the idea of serving electors. Instead of complaining about the past, they have chosen to build the future. Instead of political divisions as a single means of conduct, they have chosen approach and unity. Instead of attacks on political opponents, media, civil society organisations, the private sector of each other, they have chosen co-operation and construction of the common road ahead of what and have been chosen in the first place. And it is this very leadership model that our little country, with extraordinary people and potential, derived from political depression towards the progress of great collective development.
During the past year, we began five important processes as a party for our common future. First, after a long time, we organized elections in Forum of Woman and Youth Forum, thus giving women and political youth not only the platforms of our common articulation, but also the organisation needed for the realisation of the merit role that women and youth should have within the Democratic League of Kosovo.
Second, we organised extraordinary elections in 10 branches of the Democratic League of Kosovo; to produce new teams of joint commitment for the large establishment the LDK needs in all Kosovo cities.
Third, we decided to return to the Albanian exile in Europe and beyond to restore the bilateral traditional ties the LDK has always had. So we founded the Political Team for Mergita, which, in co-operation with the current structures in the diaspora reactivated dozens of underseas in European capitals. They have now become an address to the political organisation of Albanians in the Magyar, within the Democratic League of Kosovo, their first address.
Fourth, we started drafting our political programme, the Future of Future, not only as ideological ideological articulation, but also as a detailed programme on the internal and foreign policies of the Republic of Kosovo. Thus, full of 29 teams -- from health and education, protection and security, economy and justice, energy to foreign policy -- are producing the most detailed political programme Kosovo has ever had. More than 300 professionals and foreign and foreign experts, indiscriminately divided into these 29 groups, are building our political-program orientation, which will serve as the opposition basis of our concrete making today as the electoral platform in the upcoming elections, and as the governing programme in the next government led by the Democratic League of Kosovo.
Fifth, and no less important, in the following year, we began the complex process of full registration of our membership. Digital interface U n The LDK has become an address to the individual identity of each member of the Democratic League, in Kosovo and Mrdja indiscriminately. As we speak here today, over 400,000 members are registered in our registry; thus making the Democratic League of Kosovo with the largest number of registered members in the country. Our membership census, in addition to serving in identifying the best understanding of our party potential, is also the sound basis of our internal democracy; one of the identity pillars of the LDK.
And during all this time, so during the time we held elections at forums and branches, during the new era of opening the organization in the Magyars, during the time of building the political programme and registration of membership, we began and direct communication with civil structures. “The LDK listens to” as the main platform of our public, fair and direct communication throughout Kosovo has already become. All this time, with my associates, activists and activists of our political house, we have met at our citizens' gatherings and visits to every city, village and neighbourhood in Kosovo. From these daily meetings with them, we are clearly understanding their views and concerns. We are especially understanding the challenges of their families ' inadequacy. We see the abandonment they have received from the state in every aspect of their lives from health and education to the economy, employment security. We see, above all, uncertainty about the future, and unfortunately, leaving the country as their only alternative.
But above all, they understand a truth that makes us very proud: The LDK has become the address of our people's plightes. The LDK has become the address of building hope for them and for the whole country. And just over this waiting relationship, for them and not for us, we have to make our future commitment.
And because we found this connection, I'm sure of the way forward. Because we found this connection in a year and a half and doubled. So in a year and a half, we are the country's largest political grouping. Therefore, in a year and a half, we have been joined by the mayors, deputies of the Kosovo Parliament and members of the civil society of integrity professionals, popularity and steadfast devotion. So in a year and a half, expectations for us are greater. Because in the face of the popularity of embracing irresponsibly, the Democratic League of Kosovo is always the beacon of leadership towards the monumentic changes for which the change in Kosovo represents wealth. Our citizens expect much from the LDK. It's our duty and our national duty to offer them more.
And this is my call today, dear ladies and gentlemen.
In this 33 year, remember the values and ideals for which we stand. Remember as a historic mission, the republic's founding father's postatate, “Kosovo independent and sovereign state, integrated into NATO and the EU, and with permanent friendship with the US”. And remember the historical burden that our political grouping carries on itself, and all the glorious history that our men and women of three letters have created.
Remember, even our exclusive mission to democracy. As leaders of the largest Albanian organisation in Kosovo, as initiated by democracy and founder of its citizenship and realisation of independence, The LDK is entitled to emancipate and the political scene when the same is in strategic and social-contaminational deviations. Therefore, our conduct in the opposition should be different than those who have misused this scene for short political benefits. Therefore, we should be fanatically watching our political and operational ideals, even when they seem overwhelmed by the smoke of popularism. To make sure that this street, the robotist ID, is the stable, the truth, is the only one. That's why we and we can't be like them, because we're not like them and shouldn't be like them. We are the Democratic League of Kosovo, the political home of freedom, independence, its democracy and Euro-Atlantic integration.
And right at this 33rd anniversary, on the eve of last year's holidays, I invite you each to unstopable engagement in our new covenant, within the old political house. The chapters of the past are closed, over them we are opening new pages at critical and vital moments for the future of the country. I invite all of our right, all of the rugogues, all of the intellectuals and workers, all believers in the Republic and our Euro-Atlantic future, to overcome any obstacles, any challenge of any reluctance, to join each other, and to others who love and have to be with us on this journey, to give Kosovo, present and future generations, the future future future future future that they always deserve.
Kosovo is our home country.
NATO and Europe are our future.
Service to the Republic and historical aspirations of the people of Kosovo is our mission. So let's do this journey together!
God bless Kosovo.
God bless your families.
God bless the Democratic League of Kosovo.
Cheers and thank you.
