EU for Vucinqi's statements to Kurti: We expect European behavior, not tensions

Serbia's president, yesterday, called Kosovo Prime Minister <x0->Terroric area” and all this vocabulary came after the appointment of Nenad Rashiqi, minister for Kthim and Community in the Government of Kosovo, following the resignation of Goran Rakisic of the Serbian List. EU spokesman Petar Stano, who said he expects European behaviour on both sides, has spoken on the issue.
“The EU and its member states expect European behaviour when dealing with rhetoric and meeting with stock problems and trying to find solutions”, Stano said in a media presentation.
What happened yesterday in Kosovo (with Rashiqi's appointment), Stano said that “is something we have commented yesterday and we have said we think that the framework of dialogue between Pristina and Belgrade, mutual trust is important”.
And we clearly said that in this context regarding Nenad Rashiqi's appointment as minister to the government it is vital that all ministerial appointments be made in accordance with Kosovo's constitution. The EU and its member states call on Kosovo to be fully respected in all procedural steps for the appointment of ministers representing non-most communities. Our preliminary reading of yesterday's appointment is that this appointment does not meet the constitutional requirements. But that, of course, depends on Kosovo's Constitutional Court to establish and reconcile that the Constitution is a key part of the rule of law that we expect Kosovo to implement”, Stano said.
Even more important in this situation, the EU spokesman said further, is the “situate currently fragility” in Kosovo, while citing recent developments in the country before reaching the license agreement.
“We are in a situation that had already passed that led to very strong transitions, the strongest in many years, which the EU used to call on Kosovo and Serbia to relax and refrain from provocations. The security situation on the ground is very French, and it needs to be taken into account. Any action that will, or lead to increased tensions, even older ones, must be avoided, and in this context, the last thing, let me repeat the call of the EU and of the 27 member states to both sides, is to work immediately towards the return of Kosovo Serbs to all Kosovo institutions in accordance with binding dialogue agreements. And when we talk about the Western Balkans, we've already set expectations, and I think it's necessary to repeat how important the summit in Tirana is. For the first time such a summit is being held in the region, and it is not necessary to repeat what geopolitical circumstances are under way”, the EU spokesman stressed.
He reiterated that the European community expects Kosovo and Serbia to behave in a European manner.
If you have European aspirations, behave in a European way, which means one-way content, steps that increase confrontations, leading to transitions, and commit to finding solutions in European ways. This is the long-term European expectation that has been repeatedly told to our partners at various levels”, the potential Stano in this media presentation.
He also spoke of EU emissary's upcoming visit to Dialogue, Miroslav Lajcak, saying this visit was scheduled much earlier, and did not relate to Rashiqi's appointment.
