Ukrainians are more likely to live with power cuts at least by the end of March, the head of a key energy supplier said Monday, as the government began free evacuations for people in Kherson to other regions.
Half of Ukraine's energy infrastructure has been damaged by Russian attacks, President Volodymyr Zelensky said, leaving millions of people without electricity and water as winter begins, Reuters writes.
Sergey Kovalenko, head of the major private energy provider YASNO for Kiev, said workers are rushing to finish repairs before the winter cold arrives.

The cuts have been a daily phenomenon in all regions of Ukraine, with network operator Ukrenergo saying other planned closures are scheduled for Tuesday.
Kovalenko added that new restrictions on power distribution were imposed by the network operator Monday, resulting in the break-up of more than 950 thousand customers.
