Statement of the President's Office of the Republic of Kosovo for violence exercised against the elderly at a shelter in Pec:
Violence is unacceptable regardless of whom it is directed. To do violence is a double crime. They are the most sensitive part of society, their contribution is our foundation.
Today's act of violence against an elderly person is shocking, unacceptable, and incompatible, strongly condemned by the President's Office. Capable mechanisms should strengthen and monitor the selection criteria so that those who are entrusted with treatment of children, women, and elderly pass through the harsh filters of recruiting.
We have to make a society as humane as we can, and this should be our daily effort.
The President's office invites justice organs to address the case as a priority because such acts are unacceptable and punishable.
