Through a communiqué to the media, police have said that the public order and border units under official duty are circulated and moved depending on the commitments and police duties, but that there is no involvement or delivery of special units to northern Mitrovica.
“The public order and border police units under official duty are being circulated or moved depending on police commitments and duties, but there is no involvement or forwarding of special units in northern Mitrovica, as published in the media”, said in the communique.
In the end, police have said that “according to the need and operational assessment will engage its personnel, with the aim of carrying out legal tasks and authorisations, in the function of ensuring overall security in the country, and providing security to all citizens without any distinction. ”

Reference to the current situation and developments in the country, Kosovo Police as the law enforcement institution, based on legal and constitutional acts, have its operational plans for maintaining the Constitutional Order of the Republic of Kosovo, free movement, as well as preserving order and public calm throughout the country.
Kosovo police consistently forwarded developments in the country, including recent developments in northern Mitrovica, and made professional assessments that require necessary, reasonable and legal measures to deal with the security situation and professional response in the event of civil security violations or constitutional order.
Kosovo police, according to the need and operational assessments, will engage its personnel, in order to carry out duties and legal authorisations, in the function of ensuring overall security in the country, as well as providing security to all citizens without any distinction.
