As the communiqué reports, this meeting has started with discussions concerning the situation created at the Constitutional Prosecutor in Mitrovica, following the handover of resignation by prosecutors and administrative staff of the Serbian community.
In this case, Council members have called on the head prosecutor of Mitrovica's Constitutional Prosecutorship and the Secretariat of the Prosecutorial Council to assess the created situation and as competent units under the prosecutorial system to take the necessary measures and submit concrete proposals to the Council for the functioning of work in the Mitrovica Foundation Prosecutor, the KKP reports.
“During this meeting, the Prosecutorial Council was not issued in review of the resignations offered by prosecutors and administrative staff, because in advance an analysis and assessment of the situation created by competent bodies regarding the eventual responsibilities that have caused this situation is needed. At the end of the discussion on the situation created in the Constitutional Prosecutor of Mitrovica, members of the Council said they remained committed to co-ordinating actions with other institutions, with the aim of managing non-stop jobs in this prosecutor, but also to functioning a secure judicial environment on the entire territory of the Republic of Kosovo. From the competent Kosovo bodies were asked to provide security to employees and the facility of the Constitutional Prosecution in Northern Mitrovica”, the report said.
“During this meeting, as well, the Council has confirmed the list of candidates for members of the Kosovo Prosecutor's Council from the ranks of Appeals Prosecutor's Prosecutors and has established the Commission for Review for the announced position of the Secretary General of the Kosovo Prosecutorial Council and Head of the Unit for Review of the Prosecutor's Performance.”, the announcement concludes.
