Albania does not value electricity prices

The decision was announced by Deputy Prime Minister and Albanian Infrastructure and Energy Minister Belinda Balluk.

It cited three factors leading to the postponement of the decision. The first was, according to her, the decline of consumption on the part of citizens, second to the forecasts for rainfall in the coming days and third the reduction of energy prices on international markets.

From the Energy Ministry's data, consumption in October was 7 percent less than the same month of last year.

Meanwhile, the price of one megawatt on international markets has dropped from 450 euros to 250 euros. In this statement, Minister Balluk said citizens are responding positively to both the call for savings and the scheme for the deployment of solar panels for heating water.
