Russia's leader, based in the southern region of Kherson in Ukraine, Vladimir Saldo, has called on civilians to leave the country following intensified attacks by Ukrainian forces.
According to Saldo, the best way for civilians to save themselves is to go to Russia and therefore ask the Kremlin authorities for help.
This call was later repeated by Russian Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khnsullin through a message to state television, while the immediate response was to Kiev, who denied allegations that he is targeting civilians.
In recent days Ukrainian troops have advanced to the northeastern region of Kherson, approaching the city center.
The government has already decided to provide assistance for the departure of civilians from Kherson to other regions of the country. We'll provide free accommodation and all the necessary things for everyone”, Khusulin said among other things.
Khherson is the only headquarter to have fallen into Moscow's control since the first day of the so-called special operation on February 24th.
