Russian President Vladimir Putin has said he is satisfied and surprised by the results of so-called referenda in the four Ukraine regions that are already annexed by Russia, writes CNN, Pryscopy. “The results of the referenda, to be honest, not only pleased, but also surprised me -- people lived under such conditions [...]

Addressing a teacher from the Donbas region, Putin said these regions would stabilise and develop, while “would help empower the state as a whole”.
