“A proposal for Kosovo that Vuciq should not reject”

According to Serbia's president, Germany and France are offering Serbia accelerated accession to the European Union and considerable financial assistance in exchange for Kosovo's calm admission to the United Nations and other international institutions. In addition to all of this, Vuciq said that with this proposal no one is asking Serbia to recognise Kosovo as an independent state.

This is more than a serious and real proposal in any sense. The most painful point for Serbia is exactly Kosovo and recognition of independence. At this moment and perhaps even in the future in Serbia, there will be no readiness and strength for such signing. With this proposal, if Vuciki's interpretation is correct, there will be no need for that signature, and this is the moment expected.

If the head of the Serbian government were smart, this proposal would be accepted at the same time as starting for the most serious negotiations thus far with internationals. The readiness for such compromise of Germany and France, which are the backbone of the EU, should be used and possibly generate some more concrete benefit for citizens of Serbian nationality in Kosovo, as well as for the position and status of centuries-old monasteries. and churches. And of course for, in the end, forming the Association of Serb majority municipalities.

Why is the proposal good?

Why is this proposal good? Perhaps most of the fact that he respects reality, both in Kosovo and Serbia. Kosovo has come a long way towards citizenship, which Serbia will not recognise. Besides Russia and China, all other great powers have known this reality. The current behaviour of Russia and China, however, goes down to the fact that Kosovo's UN accession idea cannot be passed to the Security Council. The Serbian people in Kosovo have nothing of that. No job or any other form of system support. After all, the UN is no longer as a former organisation, especially since the beginning of the war in Ukraine.

Serbia, on the other hand, is not ready to fully recognise the situation on the ground. And that doesn't go in favor of Serbs. The influence of the Serbian state in Kosovo is decreasing, as is the number of Serbs living in Kosovo today. In order for ordinary people to visit Kosovo, they must place stickers on plates. Representatives of authorities in Belgrade cannot visit Serbian holy land without Pristina's approval. The possibility of not knowing Kosovo must encourage many that the moment has come for history to gradually end. Large countries have powers that Serbia cannot influence.

If they want to accept Kosovo into the UN, Serbia cannot do much there, even if the total number of countries that do not recognise Kosovo is greater than the number of countries that recognise it. There, again, the greats will stand and change that score overnight. That's why Serbia can't prevent it.

EU membership is not as desirable as it was until late. Support for EU membership has never been lower in Serbia and much should be done in that direction. Serbia certainly has a country in the EU, but not as it is today. It should be a mutually respectful relationship on both sides, and more importantly, honesty. Without it, everything is meaningless. There is no majority in Serbia that would accept Kosovo's entry into the UN for the sake of EU membership.

Benefit for People Without Kosovo Recognition

Financial assistance is perhaps a slightly more specific story. Citizens of Serbia still believe China and Russia are Serbia's biggest financial donors. This is one of the biggest absurdities in today's Serbia. For the distrust of all nationalists and right-wings, Russia and China are almost not on that list, and the EU holds the first convincing position. Not just for investments and loans, but above all for grants. When we add all the investments and the number of companies from the West, compared to the East, we come to an estimate that clearly shows where Serbia belongs. Chinese invest a lot in Serbia, it's not a secret, but there's been no Russian investment in all these years. The only place the Russians were involved was Serbia's Oil Industry, which was the beginning and end of Russian investments.

Vuciq has been boasting for years that Serbia is a leader in foreign investment and it is easy to guess what would happen to them if they rejected the proposal.

So this proposal is quite excellent. You accept reality, take any benefits for your people living in Kosovo, enter the EU, get great financial assistance and should not recognise Kosovo.

If Serbia rejects this proposal, Serbia's isolation from the international community and the formation of Greater Albania could easily happen, for which it is widely working. Europe does not need one or the other. We all know from experience that the actual proposal has always been better than the next one. We also remember that the other side, in relation to the Serbian side, sometimes accepted unfriendly conditions only because he knew Belgrade would not accept that. It is time to stop and think seriously and discreetly.

Serbia will not get a better offer at first. Those who hope the Russians will cross the Danube and change the geostrategic and geopolitical structure in the world are in a greater illusion than the one in which it claims Serbia has never been present in Kosovo today. For Serbia to regain Kosovo with war, it is so meaningless that it is not worth losing words.

Serbia and Vuciqi are entitled to try to fight for the best possible outcome in negotiations, and this should be the sacred obligation of today's authorities in Belgrade. No retreat now. It is time to reach a compromise and thus ensure the future of Serbia and the Albanian people in Kosovo. This proposal offers it.
