Pinto has added that Kosovo's future lies in the EU.
We're here to show our support. We will support Kosovo, because we have an emotional connection with you, a large number of Portugal's forces are present in Kosovo. We will support you for visa liberalisation and membership in the European Union. Kosovo's future is in the union and you will have all of our diplomatic support”, Sergio Soussa Pinto said at today's media conference, after meeting with Kosovo deputies, who are part of the Foreign Affairs Commission.
Meanwhile, Kosovo Foreign Affairs Commission Chairman Haki Abazi has said they have also called for support for recognising Kosovo's independence.
“Today we talked about bilateral relations for Kosovo's priority in foreign policy, which is visa liberalisation, membership in the Council of Europe and NATO membership. We asked Portugal to support us on this road. Since Portugal has relations with many countries around the world, we sought support for recognising Kosovo's independence from these countries”, Abazi has said.
