Deputy Defence Minister Shemsy Syla said they are preparing for whatever situation, which even “in the times when KFOR or NATO are not here, the t dealt with protecting the country”.
“Mby all of us have a destiny that NATO and KFOR today are responsible for security and we do nothing without coordinating with them. We have to prepare to be ready for any situation. Of course, our entity level is ready to respond to the demands KFOR may have. We are heading towards the stage so that tomorrow we will be ready even when KFOR and NATO is not here, we will be ready to defend our country. We have some pillars on which we are preparing, level of schooling, level of equipment insurance, infrastructure”, Syla said.
Deputy Defence Minister Shemsy Syla said circumstances created after Russian aggression have prompted the demand to become part of NATO to speed up
Syla said that “have clear signals and NATO's credibility is complete towards Kosovo”.
This was the biggest problem, but the political circumstances created after Russian aggression have rushed to crystallize our demand, here we have clear signals, and NATO's credibility is complete”, Syla said.
Syla said Kosovo has come to that stage where it is prepared at the standards level to be offered NATO to be part of it.
We didn't have an easy way of walking up here. The transformations were not easy, they were painful. We got past them. We got through it. We've come to this stage when we're very prepared at the standard level that needs to be offered NATO to be a NATO member because all our work, our walk has had a goal and a point. Our transformation stages say we're close to that point. It's a road that takes time, all the circumstances, all the jobs we've done so far, we've given good signs, and clear arguments that we're on that street”, he told RTV 21.
“We are in co-ordination with KFOR. Whatever the situation responsible for regulating this job is the Ministry of Internal Affairs and other state bodies that are competent, as well as KFOR that is in its presence and has increased its presence after these events that have recently occurred in the northern part. We will always be in permanent contact with conveying the situation and in full assistance of KFOR”, Syla said.
There is an agreement between KFOR and KSF, and it was signed in 2013, so that we're not there, that agreement doesn't mean it doesn't change, depending on the situation or events that could be carried out”, Syla said.
