Jasharaj requires additional compensation for teachers of the weekend work

This SBASK request is being considered fair by law connoisseurs in Kosovo.

In collective contracts signed by the Government of Kosovo and the Education Union, it is said that holding classes during the weekend and official holidays should be paid at least 50 per cent of the wages.

The labour law and the collective contract determines that the work week is Monday through Friday, and that if it is because of education workers on weekends or holidays, the state is obliged to pay for the weekend as much as 50 percent as normal pay. If the education workers really get back to work on Saturdays and they apply to the SBASK, we're going to get in support and the subjects we send and we're going to protect our colleagues through courts, as we've done for the files and other issues that are guaranteed by the” contract, Jasharaj added.

And lawyer Yll Zakariya said that there is no law of instruction for the teachers if they are not paid in accordance with the contract.
