On August 10th of this year through a public competition, System, Transmission and Market Operator, (KOSTT), announced the position of executive chief of this institution. Gazeta Infokus' sources suggest that trust by the board of directors has been assumed for this position by Eventar Zeqiri, who is the brother of Mentor Hyseni's wife, the candidate for deputy and member of the Vetevendosje Movement.
Eventar Zeqiri's friend, Mentor Hyseni, was the candidate for deputy on the Vetevendosje list in the 2019 elections, while in the government Kurti 1, he temporarily took the post of water board chairman “Pristina”. Mentor Hyseni was presented as a new campaign release in 2019. LVV chairman Albin Kurti described him as a professional.
For 12 years Mentor Hyseni has worked in high managerial positions through various public institutions in Kosovo, such as the Ministry of Justice and the Kosovo Energy Corporation. While in the past four years Mentor works as a Public Finance expert in the Kosovo Assembly, offering his long-standing expertise to serve a better public money government”, Kurti wrote in the 2019 campaign.
Infocus has contacted With Mentor Hyseni, who also confirmed his family relationship with Evenhar Zeqiri, saying Zeqiri's employment has nothing to do with it. According to him potentially 51% of citizens in the country are part of LVV. He has added that Kostt's board has been chosen from the Assembly in co-operation with the English, and that their choice has nothing to do with the Vetevendosje Movement and that how competent it has been to the post taken over Zeqiri can speak to the Cost Board, from which it has been chosen.
My wife's brother, man. If you'd like to ask if he was competent for his post as chief executive then you should ask Cost's board. Because the board has assessed it, it is the board's chairman and board members who have chosen the Kosovo Assembly. The board has been chosen in co-operation with the English without any influence of the Vetevendosje Movement, at least not even the media have charged it with this board. Now why is he my friend to be a member of LVV, which I'm potentially saying 51% are Vetevendosje in the country and that has nothing to do with me”, Hyseni said.
While coming to power in the second mandate of the Vetevendosje Movement, with the government's decision, Hyseni was elected and continues to be a member of the Kosovo Privatisation Agency board (AKP), Infocus writes.
But even Zeqiri himself was employed in the Kurti 1 government. In addition to foreign adviser to the Ministry of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation, he had been elected in June 2021 one of the members of the CRU Public Company's Acting Board of Directors “Pristina”, a board chosen by the government. And Mentor Hyseni has also been chairman of the KRU Water Board “Pristina”.
LVV's Hyseni with several jobs and annual revenues of over 38 thousand euros
Mentor Hyseni from LVV currently holds several jobs. Based on the wealth declaration, at the Anti-Corruption Agency(AKK), in 2022, he, besides board member at the AKP, holds six other jobs, including in the Kosovo Energy Corporation, where he pays compensation. His annual salary of 7 jobs totals over 38,000 euros.
Unlike Hyseni, his wife's brother, Eventar Zeqiri, has declared his property in the AKK only in 2021, as an foreign adviser in August.
As foreign adviser to the ministry, it paid 24 thousand euros a year, and other annual revenues had another 20 thousand euros in offers of consultancy for various clients.
He owns land in Pristina, worth 250,000 euros, and inherited housing worth 150 thousand euros. He also has two cars that are worth 12,000 euros. And money in banks he owns over 66 thousand euros.
Kriteres in Competition for Position of Cost Chief Executive
According to Gazeta Infokus' sources, Eventar Zeqiri has failed to meet the criteria for being elected to the position of head of Cost. It has been completed “Bachelor” on Information Management at Pristina University, as well as a degree <x2Mister” in Business Administration at the University of Sheffield.
This is also noted on the basis of the August 10th open competition from Cost, where, in the part of the qualifications and skills that one has to run for chief office is also the necessary professional experience and schooling required for this position, which is the faculty of engineering, which it does not meet, Zeqiri, at least according to public reports on his schooling.
The next criterion in the competition is that the person selected in this position has at least 5 years of work experience in leadership positions, and experience in the energy sector.
