Democratic Party of Kosovo Vice President Vlora Citaku has said it would be unfair if the EU conditioned the visa liberalisation process with the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue. She said the processes are completely different and completely separate from each other.
The visa liberalisation process should not be conditioned with dialogue, it is completely unfair. They're completely disconnected from one another”, Citaku said in T7.
It has said the visa liberalisation process is not the same as membership in the European Union.
The visa liberalisation process is not like integration into the European Union. I would have understood if The EU condition Kosovo on agreement with Serbia, should it be for EU membership. Clearly, the EU does not want to import a problem in its family. Venezuelan citizens travel visa-free to Schengen, Taiwan, etc.”, she has said.
Citaku has said visa liberalisation is necessary for citizens. Politicians, she has said, enjoy these privileges of the Schengen area with the possession of passports of other states.
The majority of politicians in Kosovo are not affected by liberalisation because they have passports of a second state, those affected by this decision are citizens, parents, students, workers”, she has said.
Citaku, too, has stated that no expressions of hate speech to the EU should be used by the despair of the visa liberalisation process.
“We should be very careful in shaping public disks, we should not offend the spirit of the European Union”, she stressed.
