China reported on Thursday the third day in a row with over 1,000 positive cases of Corleone.
Wuhan, the first area in the world where COVID exploded, reported 2025 infected over the week. Local authorities ordered over 800,000 people in a district to stay in the homes until October 30th.
Wuhan suspended the sale of pork in some parts of the city, with the reasoning that a positive case was linked to the supply chain.
Coronavirus cases in China have been low by global standards, but its ultra strict measures of control against the highly transmitted variant, Omitron, have heavily burdened the world's second largest economy and shaken financial markets.
Other cities in China have also enacted new restrictions this week.
China has consistently pledged to show zero tolerance in response to COVID-19 and to implement any measures authorities impose.
