“As German Government, we have a very, very clear stand for recognition”, Baerbock said at a news conference, along with Kosovo counterpart Donika Grovalla-Schwarz, after a meeting in Berlin.
Backock has said Germany is actively working for the membership of all Western Balkan countries in the EU, and that means mutual recognition.
On the other hand, Kosovo's Foreign Minister has said that he has seen these reports in the media and has remembered that Russia has exercised the main influence in the region through false news.
“Normisation in dialogue with Serbia can only culminate with mutual recognition”, Gervala has said.
Backock has also said that the time has come for visa liberalisation for Kosovo and that this issue is the highest “priority”.
Speaking of Thursday's meeting of EU interior ministers in Brussels, she said Germany has campaigned to turn this topic into agenda.
