Albania's government proposes removal of VAT for energy import

These changes in the VAT scheme are provided to facilitate the expensive price of electricity to all subjects who buy it through the Albanian stock exchange, while in cases of energy import, the government proposes removing the value added tax.

Such an option, expected to create more ease on the power grid and lower a significant cost to large companies by bringing less costs into production, writes “Ora News” on Sunday.

In the coming year, however, there is no forecast to be a decrease in excises or fuel taxes.

The bills are part of the fiscal package that appears to be adopted together with the state budget.
