Russia: The individual sanctions for Putin do nothing to the President

Russia on Wednesday has been alarmed that imposing direct sanctions on its president, Vladimir Putin, would not personally harm him, but that it would be <x0-politically destructive”.

US President Joe Biden said that even though imposing direct sanctions on Russian President Putin could be a non-usual “step”, sanctions could be considered part of its efforts and European allies to convince Moscow that any deterioration of the situation in Ukraine could bring massive consequences.

Individual sanctions against President Putin “would not be painful, but would be politically destructive”, an official from the Kremlin said.
