Iran today has imposed sanctions against 51 American citizens, of whom most are military.
Sanctions against them concern the murder of Iranian General Qasem Sylejmani in January 2020.
Iran's Foreign Affairs Ministry has announced that 51 American citizens are charged with terrorism and human rights violations.
This action enables Iranian authorities to freeze any kind of assets Americans possess in Iran. But, as Reuters reports, this act of Iranian authorities is more symbolic, since it does not figure out any kind of wealth of US sanctioned officials on the territory of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Sulejmani, former commander of Iranian forces “Qudes”, was killed in Iraq in a fearful attack on 3 January 2020. The order for his selection had been given by former President of the United States Donald Trump.
General Mark Millie and former national security adviser Robert O'Brien are also on the sanctioned list.
Iran, about a year ago, had put former President Trump and a considerable number of senior American officials on the blacklist. /Periscopi
