Democratic League of Kosovo Chairman Lumir Abdixhiku has said today that Balkan economic integration makes sense only when Serbia recognises the state of Kosovo.
Obadiah's reaction comes a day after the Economic Forum was held in Skopje, where Mini-Shengen was discussed, where it is called Balkan <x0 from yesterday.
At this forum, Albania's Prime Minister Edi Rama, Macedonia's Zoran Zaev, as well as Serbia's president, Aleksandar Vuciq.
Kosovo, Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina were not part of the meeting.
Read full the position of Abdixhik and LDK on Balkan Opipen:
Balkan economic integration only makes sense when preceded by a political recognition each of them. Serbia does not recognise Kosovo. Thus, borders become even more meaningful. They just get stronger. That's why we can't even get rid of Missie Schengen or like Balkan Opin.
Knowing Before Borderless Cooperation!
This is my position and that of LDK.
Before it is an economic project, however, it is a political project. Economic benefits, become insignificant in the face of Serbian political denial, and this should be understood by everyone involved, especially our colleagues in Albania.
The Kosovo government should talk to Albania and the Albanian Government there anyway. The meaningless tension of our reactions mainly due to reckless electoral interventions at this start-up from our prime minister has led to our first in the 30-year history, our streets in front of Serbia are divided. And it's unfortunate. Kosovo and Albania should have an opinion and a stance.
Kosovo should be part of regional co-operation. But just as an equal party, sovereign state, known to all, well-known. Until then, any other initiative is harmful to our national and Albanian interests in the region.
