“Special S'e rules out the possibility of another delay in the decision to former KLA leaders”

While there are still weeks until the July 22nd deadline for announcing the first-instance act against Hashim Thaci, Kadri Veselini, Jakup Krasniqi and Rexhep Selimi, defence and connoisseur assess that the process has dragged on greatly and that continuing detention is undermining the rights of the accused.
Although the Specialised Chambers have argued the postponement of the decision with the great complexity and volume of the subject, it remains unclear whether judges will respect this deadline or require additional time to finalise the bias.
There has remained a month until the deadline set by Kosovo's Specialised Chambers in The Hague for announcing the first-degree decision on Hashim Thaci, Kadri Veselin, Jakup Krasniqi and Rexhep Selimi.
The decision to postpone the decision until July 22, the speciale had reasoned with the large volume of the subject, which, according to it, takes much time for analysis and examination by the court.
But that deadline, according to the Specialised Chambers, could be extended again if the judges see it necessary. And as the days are running, Thaci and the others continue to be held in custody even more than four months after the trial ends.
Recognitions of the law say the process from the start has been unfair and has dragged on too long, violating the rights of the accused. According to him, the likelihood of a decision being postponed again exists.
The legal “is, as far as it's logical for those of us living in Kosovo, it's irrational because it's a crawl, and according to all odds, there's multiple paperwork, even though the judges have constantly examined them during the court processes, read them to witnesses, yet the law I'm obliged to analyze all the paperwork by one of yours together. The important thing after all is the positive future decision, and the ones that have been released, while for procrastination, they have waited a few years, let them wait a few more months that it doesn't go”, said about RTK, Skender Musa, lawyer.
And as the detention continues until they wait for the verdict, their rights are being violated, another lawyer, Arber Jashar, says.
The moment the prosecution witnesses were heard there is no longer any reason for those people to stay there, the legal reason I mean, the fact that all the evidence has been administered and the process has ended, and now we're only waiting for the trial shows that they've stopped almost the minimum reasons with which the court can justify that these suspects can prevent the” process, he stated.
Thaci and the others are in custody at The Hague from November 2020, until in February they announced in their concluding words that they are innocent and that their release would be the right decision.
