Behet Pacolli: Work resumes at Vlora Airport tomorrow, legitimacy restored

Behgjet Pacolli has announced that the MABCO company will resume work tomorrow at the Vlora Airport shipyard, along with more than 200 specialists and sub contractors.
According to Pacolli, the decision was made in line with the Supreme Court's decision, the Assembly of VIA Actionaries, as well as the request of Albanian institutions. He said that the works had been blocked for several months by those who, according to him, had acted without legal grounds and had prevented activity at the site.
Pacolli described the resumption of works as restoring legitimacy and a significant step towards completing one of the largest infrastructure projects in Albania.

Tomorrow, MABCO, along with more than 200 specialists of its subsurgeons, will resume operations at the Vlora Airport shipyard. The move will be taken in full compliance with the Supreme Court's decision and the VIA Assembly's decision. since 18/06/2026, as well as in respect of the request of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy (MIE) and the position publicly expressed by Prime Minister Edi Rama, that Vlora Airport should not fall prey to narrow interests or illegal acts of anyone, but end as soon as it is opened for operation.
After a several - month blockade and the efforts of people who have acted illegally, without any legal basis and without a plate, the work was violently hampered. These persons, even with the support of state police facilities, discontinued construction at the site and arbitrarily seized equipment, tools, and private machinery owned by subcontractors. )
Relaunching the works marks restoring legitimacy and respecting the decisions of judicial and competent institutions, paving the way for continuing and completing the work on one of the country's most important infrastructure projects.
Mabco requires justice, transparency and legitimacy and as always constructive support of institutions and anyone so that the airport can open up as quickly as possible!
