Full status:
The Shindjegi celebration (St. George) confirms the fact that we Albanians were Orthodox.
George (from Loda) was a soldier of the Guard of the Diocletian Emperor (Irsar of the Dalmatian tribe).
With 303 Diocletian requires that all Christian soldiers give up Christianity and turn to paganism. George refused despite the promotions of Diocletian Caesar to corrupt him even by offering him wealth.
And on April 23rd, or May 6th, his head is beheaded.
Thus, Shingergi is not going to be a pagan holiday.
On the other hand, as I put it above, Catholics Shindjegin celebrate (other than) April 23rd and Orthodox on May 6th.
We Albanians celebrate on May 6th, just as Serbs, Roma and others celebrate.
Historically it is known that we Albanians (iliaries) accepted Christianity before the Slavs until the Roma come much later to the Balkans.
Now, if we Albanians were the first Christians in the Balkans, and if the Roman Empire (Landor) was ours, because there were lots of Illyrians who were Her Caesars, or are you saying that we, despite all the time, were the Saints to the Orthodox ritual?
SP: for Enver (Hojain) historian and other historians who were transformed into Orthodox churches in Serbia.
