Gucatiti's lawyer, Jonathan Elystan Rees, has called for the appointment of a date when these restrictions for detainees will be lifted at The Hague.
“We are grateful that the vaccine process will begin on 4 June. We've understood from the office that all staff and prisoners will be vaccinated by June 4th. We understand that unforeseen things can happen, we want to set a date for lifting restrictions regarding the physical contact of defenders and family visits. When all parties are vaccinated, it is natural to remove these measures. That's our bid”, Gucatiti's lawyer said.
Meanwhile, Toby Cadman, deputy chairman's lawyer, Nasim Haradinaj, said restrictive measures not allowing family visits are unacceptable.
He further stated that the detainees have taken both vaccines, and that the prison guards have the problem.
“should be allowed to visit Mr. Haradinaj. As I know Mr. Haradinaj has made both vaccines and others. The problem lies with prison guards and perhaps restrictions will not be lifted by July. This is unacceptable. We have also requested medical advice and have been told that the advice they received from the doctor is not in writing”, he stated.
On this issue, Special have also been declared by the administrative office.
One of the representatives of this office said that such a thing still cannot be allowed because according to him, the measures are in force for the entire Netherlands and not only for the Special Court.
Furthermore, he said that early in June, the detainees in The Hague will also receive the second dose of the vaccine against David-19.
We're only happy about the need for the health of all prisoners because of pandemic. We respect the rules that are set for everyone in Holland. Limitations are constantly visible. It is our desire and our goal to remove these restrictions. The second detention vaccine is envisioned for June. There are other people, like prison guards and others, who may have an impact on policies followed by”, he said.
Currently, there are detained The Hague: Hashim Thaci, Kadri Veselini, Rexhep Selimi, Jakup Krasniqi, Salih Mustafa, Pater Shala, Hysni Gucati and Nasim Haradinaj.
