On March 3rd of this year, 12 days before being deprived of life, 44-year-old S.S. had presented the case to police for domestic violence. The victim has had problems with the ex-husband in the past. The sides were known to the police for being convicted of domestic assault and violence in 2019.
The woman who killed yesterday by her husband, who then killed himself, had twice denounced her surrender. The last divorce took place less than two weeks ago.
This information has confirmed for Express, the Kosovo Police Information Office for the Pristina Region.
“Based on official data results in people in question being parties on two occasions. One of the cases of domestic assault and violence was reported in 2019 in Gjilan, while the second case of Family Violence was reported at 03.03.2021, in Gracanica”, their response is reported.
Regarding the second case, police say that legal authorisations have been exercised in co-ordination with the state prosecutor.
“Linked to the second case has been handled by Gracanica police investigators, and in co-ordination with the state prosecutor has been exercised legal authorization”, the police response follows.
L.S., 44-year-olds have deprived their wife S.S. of life, and 44-year-olds have also killed herself. Murder and suicide occurred yesterday in Pristina's “Emshire” neighbourhood, while a firearm and shelling were found near the victims.
The murder was allegedly due to problems the couple had among themselves, also reportedly that the 44-year-olds had recently divided roads into divorce procedures.
For several hours, the lifeless bodies of the victims stayed on the street, while later, at the order of the guardian prosecutor, the victims were sent to the Law Medicine Institute in Pristina.
Pristina's Constitutional Prosecutor announced yesterday that in co-ordination with police they are taking all necessary investigative actions, with the aim of collecting information and evidence about the case.
The family has announced that the last goodbyes will be given to the couple tomorrow at 1500 p.m. at the cemetery in the city of Gjilan.
