Born in 1975, Kurt is 46 years old today.
Kurti was joined by the head of the Independent Union of the Students of the University of Pristina in August 1997, a group that organised protests to release university buildings and facilities that were occupied by the authorities of the Serbian regime.
In August 1998, Kurti began working as Secretary of the Office of the General Political Representative of the Kosovo Liberation Army (UÇK), Adem Demaci.
He was arrested by Serbian police on April 27, 1999.
When Serbian forces withdrew from Kosovo on 10 June, Kurti and over two thousand other Albanians were transferred to Serbian prisons.
He was released on December 7, 2001, until, on April 23, 2003, he graduated from the Faculty of Electronics at Pristina University, the direction of Computer Telecommunications.
Kurti has been appointed Kosovo prime minister for the second time Monday.
