A community that cares about the environment in Los Angeles started their fight against an oil company that they claimed was polluting their neighborhood.
Nallel Cobo was nine when he began suffering from asthma, nosebleeds, and headaches, writes the BBC.
It was the start of a battle against an active oil well in front of her home in Los Angelos, South.
Neil and her mother soon discovered that some of their neighbors were getting sick.
The community, composed mainly of low-income families, protested until the site was provisionally closed.
Cobo did not stop here, and she, along with a group of new activists and organisations, indicted the city to seek more regulations in oil extraction, and they won.
A criminal case against the company, Allenco and her website treatment, resume later this month.
They refused to comment on this story but have stated earlier that they invested capital to comply with regulations.
It has been compared to Greta Thurberg, even though her name has been known in the country for over a decade.
Cobo banned her activism activities early in 2020 after she was diagnosed with cancer at the age of 19. / BBC/Indesksonline
