Northern Macedonia signed the agreement Monday (08 February) with Chinese authorities for the purchase of 200,000 vaccines against the new coronavirus, which causes COVID-19 disease.

Health Minister Venko Filipce has also announced on Saturday the methodology of human vaccine, but without specifying when the first doses of Chinese vaccine can reach.

provided “Dos will serve as vaccinating 100,000 people. The first will be vaccinated to health workers and elderly people over 70 years of age. Vaccination points will operate at maximum capacity, specifically from 2000 to 2,500 vaccines per day. This vaccine is sure as well as all other vaccines”, the minister of Health has declared at a media conference in Skopje.

According to the Ministry's plan, in the second phase people over 65 will be vaccinated, those between the ages of 18 and 64, and suffering from other diseases, pharmacists, dentists, dentists, Macedonian employees, in Government, journalists, as well as educational institutions and children's gardens.

Northern Macedonia has registered on Saturday eight new victims of Coronavirus, 404 infected, as well as 101 recovered.

The data refers to testing 2,727 samples. The number of people diagnosed with COVID-19 has reached 94,599 of them; 83,735 have recovered, 2,916 people have lost their lives, while 7,948 people are still active with COVID-19.
