The EU is said to have established an Electoral Experts' mission (EEM) that will remain to follow post-electoral procedures, as well as to provide recommendations.
In the joint statement issued by EU High Representative Josep Borrell and Enlargement Commissioner Oliver Varhely, it is said the EU will engage with the new Kosovo institutions aimed at achieving progress on the European path and that it expects the new Kosovo institutions to engage constructively in dialogue with Serbia.
“This will require Kosovo to advance in reforms, led by the Stabilisation and Association Agreement and the European Reform Agency, as well as regional progress. Kosovo's European Route goes through a comprehensive normalisation agreement with Serbia, and the EU expects the new authorities in Pristina to engage constructively and aimed at continuing meetings in the dialogue with Serbia assisted by the EU and exploit the possibility ahead of themselves to reach comprehensive agreements”, It says the joint statement of Borrell and Warhely.
