From the police action “Subvention 2021”, which started Wednesday in several Kosovo locations, has been arrested 21 people so far. 12 were arrested Wednesday, one of whom was released in regular procedure, as well as nine others were arrested Thursday.
Kosovo's Tax Administration has talked about investigations that are under way for abuses in subsidies to the Agriculture Development Agency operating within the Ministry of Agriculture.
In a response to Klan Kosova, ATK has confirmed that following investigations conducted by the Department of Tax and Intelligence Investigations towards some businesses and persons there are extinguishable transactions that have been used for the purposes of covering expenses or reasonings accepted as subsidies
The tax and Intelligence Investigation Department in ATK, during the development of investigative procedures against some businesses who have been involved in cross-border transactions (separate cases) has found that some of these extinguishing transactions have been used for the purposes of covering expenses or reasonings accepted as subsidies. In the final reports handed down to businesses/persons who, according to the authorisations issued by the relevant Prosecutors, investigative procedures have been conducted, in addition to handling tax issues, the findings listed concerning subsidies provided by the Agriculture Ministry” have also been indicated in response.
The Department of Tax and Intelligence Investigations is also in the investigative procedure against a number of businesses and persons involved in suspicious mobile transactions used for the purposes of subsidies, and during the investigative procedures, there has been an interview of a considerable number of farmers, suspected persons and businesses involved in these transactions from which, through advanced interviews, are explained the actions and procedures that have been followed by them”.
Since the above-mentioned cases are in the investigative phase, ATK has said they cannot provide more information at the moment.
There are also soon to be investigations into oveners, millers, occupants and other businesses, as well as to accept subsidies.
