Albanian doctor: We are many months away from control of pandemic, I disagree with Tirana's 50% immunity.

Domi: 10 thousand doses is a very good thing because it will help vaccinate medical personnel and the doses they will know in February. But we're months and months away for pandemic control. The number of necessary doses is multiple of 10,000. It is not only Albania's problem, but in all countries there is a lack of doses in relation to the situation. In France they actually have only 500,000 doses that if compared with the population, France has no more than 2-3 times more doses than the 10,000 doses that will come to us. Ten thousand doses are a very good step, but people need to be careful with the optimism of the vaccine.

News of the Albanian government's direct agreement with the Pfizer production company preceded another significant development for the pandemic, the study of the Academy of Sciences for the immunity of the flock, under which 50% of residents in Tirana have passed Covid 19.

Dom appreciates it highly positive as a study, but he sees the conclusions with reservations.

Dom: With regard to results and conclusions, I am a bit skeptical and have my limitations to accept it as such. But study is very positive. For a fuller opinion, it is primarily necessary to know the area selection criteria, whether they are more affected or not. What's the real number of Cavius diagnosed in these areas? Second, the selected criteria for selecting individuals who have participated in this study. Should their family history be seen, were they themselves infected, had people in infected families, had contact with other infected persons? When were the monsters taken into what labs were they taken? To reach such a conclusion to 50% of the population is... be it true, but from numerous studies in different parts of the world, these figures have not resulted in either. In my opinion in Albania it should be between 15 and 30%, perhaps a little over 30%. If we're going to get it by 50%, in this case it's that in Tirana, which has a population of 900 thousand, 450 thousand people have gone into one form or another or have been in contact and have produced immunity to the virus. It's at 20-25%.

According to the doctor, Arba Domi, the number of serological tests must increase to get a clear view of the necessary vaccines that the country needs.

Dom: We need to provide 50-100 serial tests, it's a small investment that has to go to $1 ml. This helps to control the prosperity of pandemic in the coming days and months and also helps to analyze and sustain the vaccine strategy. It's a preliminary investment, but it helps back to calculate the necessary number of vaccines.
