While breast cancer is the world's most common type of cancer, Asian females are 5 times less likely to be affected by breast cancer than by females in North America.
Why is that? One reason is the consumption of green tea, the basic element in most Asian diets. Green tea is linked to a 30 - percent reduction in risk of breast cancer. Another strong reason is the consumption of soybeans, which, if constantly used during childhood, can later reduce the risk of breast cancer.
If females consume soybeans as adults, the risk may be reduced by only 25 percent. Although the consumption of green tea and soye halve the risk of breast cancer in Asian females, this is not so much the contrast between East and West. Asian population also consumes many mushrooms. As we noted about red wine, white mushrooms have shown that they block the enzyme of estrogen synthesis, at least in a plate of Petri. So researchers decided to study whether there is a connection between mushroom consumption and breast cancer.
They compared the consumption of fungi of 10,000 breast - cancer patients and 10,000 healthy females of the same age, weight and the same physical activity. Females who consumed more than half a day on average had 64 percent less access to breast cancer than those who did not consume mushrooms. Eating them and drinking half a green tea buster every day reduced 90 percent the risk of contracting the disease.
