Israel's new ambassador to Belgrade, Yahel Vilan, has said Israel has recognised Kosovo's independence on 4 September and that the work of mutual recognition is no longer a matter of discussion.
Vilan has said Israel already remains to see how such an act does not affect reports between Israel and Serbia.
The “is no longer in question whether Israel will recognise Kosovo or not, because Israel has recognised Kosovo on September 4th, and we are now left to prevent such an action from affecting the reports between Serbia and Israel”, Vilan said, N1.
Tuta Vilan has said that Israel has signed nothing in Israel and that it was part of the summit in Washington, while adding that mutual recognition has welcomed Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyah.
The Israeli ambassador has indicated that Vuciqi has not liked the decision to recognise Kosovo's independence and that he does not support such an Israeli decision.
However, Vilan say Israel is an independent state and that the decision to recognise Kosovo is a state decision.
But Israel is a sovereign state and it is our decision. The deal is signed, it's not something that I or Vucciki can change. We have to work on advancing reports and agree also on what happened two weeks ago,”, Vilan said.
Consequent recognition between Kosovo and Israel has come as a result of the September 4th meeting organised at the White House by Donald Trump administration.
