This brutal organisation has become a greater force than El Chapo's own criminal empire, experts claim.
Jalisco New Generation (CJNG), directed by Nemesio “El Mencho” Orguera Cervantes, a former Chapo ally, and operates in 35 countries in Mexico, as well as in Puerto Rico. In July, authorities estimated that the gang cared for the trafficking of one third of all drugs transported from Mexico to the US. Its products have also been sold in Europe and Asia.
Analyst Dr Robert J Bunker believes the Sinaloa cartel, already run by Chapo's sons and former partner Ishmael “ElMay” Zambada already acts in the shadows of the new criminal organization.
Bunker told the media: “Mexican federal security forces are much more powerful than drug cartels. But the point is that they are scattered throughout the country against crime and now you have to respond and risk spreading pandemic in Mexico. ”
Therefore, CJNG currently appears to be a greater force than the Sinaloa cartel in general in Mexico and abroad.
However, Sinaloa remains stronger in some of its old territories as Culiacan and its” regions.
In a video last month, members of the CJG group cheered on Mencho's name and displayed military-style weapons in a possible propaganda tool.
After the noise caused by the images, Alfonso Durazo, the country's civil security secretary, said no criminal group can compete with federal security forces”.
While Bunker told the images: “Video is correct. We've long tracked the propaganda videos of this cartel and it's seen that their kill squads are becoming more sophisticated in terms of equipment and training”.
A man identified only as Francisco says he was lying to enter a CJN cartel training camp in the mountains of Guadaira after offering him work as a security guard.
He says gang members executed a man because he did not properly assemble a pistol.
Francisco says that he was then forced to cut his hand and eat it.
