The Vetevendosje movement has started collecting signatures for no-confidence motion against the government Hoti. Because according to the head of the LVV parliamentary group, it is the government and the burdened situation of the pandemic.
In an interview for RTV Ora, former Justice Minister Albulen Haxhiu, says this way of managing this delicate situation, the country risks going to a humanitarian catastrophe.
She says this situation is a clear message to unite forces and bring down the government, which is precisely aimed through this no-confidence motion.
“The government Hoti has no legitimacy because it has no support from Kosovo citizens. Since Hot's coming to power, we have seen only failures and especially the challenge to the pandemic. The situation before this government came has been manageable and has now completely failed. One of the points of disbelief is the way to manage pandemic. By the time the Kurti government was down, the pandemic situation was in order”, she said.
In pandemic times, they chose to overthrow a government that was considered the best after declaring independence without any reasoning. The number of cases infected is reaching 10,000, while casualties over 300. Kosovo risks heading towards a humanitarian disaster, as it will be unmanageable by the medical staff itself. It is a sign to unite forces and remove this government, as Kosovo will end up with a very high number of infected people, but citizens who lose their lives due to pandemic.
While in terms of votes to pass this motion, the LVV currently has 31. Haxhiu says it takes at least 9 for her to be sent to Parliament and then 61 to pass it.
According to her, the biggest challenge for LVV is the collection of 9 of the money.
To make a formal motion we need 40 votes while our group has at least 31 deputies so we need nine. Then we need 61 to move it to the Kosovo Parliament. We are communicating with other parliamentary parties in opposition or in power where we have sent them and a list of the points of this motion and have invited them to contribute to this movement or become part of it. So far no one's been hired. The biggest challenge now is the gathering of 9 votes, then when the situation goes to the Parliament, it will be in favour of this vote”, Haxhiu told OraNews.
