AKR chairman Behgjet Pacolli has said it is still too early to talk about electing the country's new president.
In an interview for a Kosovo media medium, on this topic that has recently been currentised, he has stressed that he does not teach the announcement of candidacy for the President's Office.
“I have not declared any candidacy for the position of president of the Republic, and none of the comments made were made by me”, Pacolli said.
“I have not made any announcement or intent on the presidential candidacy, it is not time to talk about such issues, and all political parties must have a dialogue on electing the president.
For him at this most important stage are other topics such as confronting pandemic, economic recovery and dialogue with Serbia.
“We currently have a president who is doing his job and we don't do a favour to the country or to the president's institution if we start now talking about electing the president when we have enough time and we have to work on pressing issues like pandemic, dialogue with Serbia or economic situation. Let's work on these issues and when the time comes let's build consensus through a multiparty dialogue”.
Until the term Hashim Thaci expires in February 2021, according to Pacolli must all be received together.
“Let's wait for the time to come to elect the president and all political parties through dialogue to address this issue, not looking at personal and group interests, but Kosovo's interests in these difficult and challenging times for the country”.
